Need help with a Dervish build
I am not very good with builds and stuff at the moment. I have a Dervish/Monk character that I use for PvE mostly and the current skills I have is this:
[Vital [email protected]][Remove Hex][Resurrection Signet][Reversal of [email protected]][Chilling [email protected]][Whirling [email protected]][[email protected]][Healing [email protected]]
This is probably a very bad set of skills to use. Can anyone help me make a good build out of the skills I have? I haven't gotten very far in the game so I don't have a lot of money to buy more skills. This is what I have got:
[Divine Boon][Watchful Healing]
[Dust Cloak][Mystic Sandstorm][Vital Boon]
[Healing Breeze][Healing Touch][Words of Comfort]
[Eremite's Zeal][Faithful Intervention][Heart of Fury][Heart of Holy Flame][Imbue Health][Zealous Renewal]
[Mend Ailment][Protective Spirit][Reversal Of Fortune][Shielding Hands]
[Chilling Victory][Crippling Sweep][Eremite's Attack][Pious Assault][Wearying Strike]
[Balthazar's Aura][Bane Signet][Banish][Retribution][Reversal of Damage][Strength of Honor]
[Attacker's Insight][Grenth's Fingers][Mystic Twister][Whirling Charge]
[Sunspear Rebirth Signet]
[Remove Hex][Resurrect][Resurrection Signet]
And I have 200 Attribute points to use. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

You've got a awful big mess there but I think I can help you out. Good idea to ask for help, I hate getting stuck in PuGs with people using horrible build set ups. Here's what I'd do with your current skills.
[Vital Boon] [Eremite's Attack] [Healing Breeze] [Attackers Insight] [Faithful Intervention] [Whirling Charge] [Sunspear Rebirth Signet] or [Resurrect]

Another thing you could do is make a PvP character and get Balthazar Faction by doing Zaishen Challenge, RA, HB, or AB if you have Factions. Use that faction to unlock skills like [Mystic Regeneration], [Mystic Sweep], [Conviction], and [Victorious Sweep]

Ok thanks, I'll try that build out. If I create a PvP character and unlock those skills, would I be able to use those skills in my PvE character?

One of the biggest mistakes people make with creating builds is not having a purpose for them (Other then killing things are healing people)
Make sure every build you make has a purpose and is suited for the area your in and always bring some sort of self heal/self defense skill.

You would be able to buy them in Kamadan.

Ah, yes...with a PvP character you can create builds, exit into the Isles of the Nameless, right outside the big training area is an NPC called "Master of Damage." You can test builds on him to see how much damage output and how much energy your spending (Fight him as if you were fighting normally, casting enchantments and everything) Theres also specialized NPCs around the Island that specialize is certain aspects (Master of Axes uses axes and high damage axe moves) You can use those NPCs to test the survivability and effectiveness of your build.

Most PvP versions of skills are weaker then the PvE counterparts, so if your build works well with the PvP versions, then it'll be likely that it'll work fine with the PvE versions.

or use derv tomes to get them....:P cost about 350g a tome I find...better then 1k per skill - pending on how many you have unlocked..alternatively is to spend 3k balth faction and 7k(ish) gold and get an elite skill ^}
anywho good luck with whatever you decide to make :P have a few good skills there but some truely horrible ones as well .....not deserving of anything.....
best skill int he game (worth getting if hax) - combustion(or whatever the full name is) - old players will know the reference :P

Ah I see, and I can take my Dervish character to Isle of the Nameless as well I think so I don't need to create a separate character. Thanks for the help. I've had Prophecies for 7 months and not gotten very far, and I have had Nightfall for a few weeks now ^^
Offtopic: Has anyone noticed that in Prophecies there is nearly always a conversation going on, yet in Nightfall everywhere is silent as a grave apart from the trade window getting spammed?
I have started putting together my own set of skills based on some example ones I have found on the internet. I only have 10k, and have just gotten to Yohlon haven. Think I should just try and use skills I already have, or should I just go "stuff it" and spend a load of money on the skills I haven't got?
edit -
[Avatar of Balthazar][Eternal Aura][Zealous Renewal][Dust Cloak][Eremite's Attack][Zealous Sweep][Mystic Regeneration][Eternal Aura]
How's that for a build? I don't have the Avatar yet so I will just replace that with [Sunspear Rebirth Signet] for now.

I'd take Lyssa or Melandru over Balthazar, and probably fewer enchantments and more damage skills. Wearying on melandru is an easily spammable deep wound, and just hitting things with lyssa gets you big numbers.
[avatar of melandru][wearying strike][wild blow][chilling victory][eternal aura][heart of fury][attacker's insight][sunspear rebirth signet]
[avatar of lyssa][pious assault][wild blow][radiant scythe][eternal aura][heart of fury][signet of mystic speed][sunspear rebirth signet]
[Wounding strike][eremite's attack][mystic sweep][heart of fury][conjure flame][faithful intervention][signet of mystic speed][sunspear rebirth signet]
are some builds I run on my dervish. I usually have a monk hero drop [strength of honor] and [judge's insight]on me for bigger numbers

Three or four enchants should be more than you should ever need for normal PvE play, including Mystic Regen. Also, one attack skill kinda fails; you need at least three tbh. Plus, I foresee major energy issues with five 10e skills.
If you're deadset on using Balthazar, I'd run something like this:
[build prof=D scythe=12+1+1 myst=12+1 wind=3+1][Avatar of Balthazar][Heart of Fury][Eremite's Attack][Mystic Sweep][Victorious Sweep][Eternal Aura][Attacker's Insight][Sunspear Rebirth Signet][/build]

I see. I have been doing the Zaishen Challange and getting faction to unlock skills that look useful, so I'll have a look at balancing the enchantments and attack skills. Just a question, I in the Zaishen Elite challenge, I keep getting owned by the rangers. Would a combination of Avatar of Grenth and other skills be able to beat them? Because I seem to get set on fire etc a lot and with Grenth, conditions have no affect.

Melandru is the one that offers resistance to conditions, not Grenth. Grenth makes your attacks unblockable by enchanted foes.
TBH I've never used a Dervish in Zaishen Elite so I probably shouldn't be the one to give advice on that.

I would do this with the skills you have so far:
[attacker's insight][heart of fury][chilling victory][eremite's attack][pious assault][no skill][imbue health][resurrection signet]
I'd go with Heart of Holy Flame or whatever enchantment for the empty skill slot. Heart of Fury -> cover enchantment -> Attacker's Insight then just slashy slashy.
If you've moved on I'll go with the following:
[avatar of melandru][wearying strike][eremite's attack][eternal aura][attacker's insight][heart of fury][draw conditions][resurrection signet]
Make sure you buy a staff and mod it to have as high energy as possible, with a +20% enchantments mod. Weaponswapping is more effective than using a 20% enchant martial and means you have to pay the slightest amount of attention, which is good.
I'd also use Keekles' Wounding Strike build over that, but it takes a while to get to the enemy that has the skill so you can capture it. Otherwise, this is a pretty strong template.

Ah yeah I was getting confused. Grenth because when I go against the Rangers I can never seem to hit them. They always manage to dodge me and I end up dying.

Grenth only works when there are enchantments on the enemies. Later on in the game you can change secondaries. Complete the quest "Hunted!", and do quests with Dunkoro to get the profession changer there or go to The Great Temple of Balthazar and change it. It costs 500 gold to get it done. Change it to Warrior and get Wild Blow and they shouldn't pose a thread to you.

Wicked. I'll do that today. Going to try and get the Avatar of Melandru as well. Thanks a lot for your help.

My favorite Dervish bar currently in PvE is
[Avatar of Lyssa][Heart of Fury][Death's Charge][Eternal Aura][Lyssa's Assault][Radiant Scythe][Pious Assault][Sunspear Rebirth Signet]
Options include:
1. Remove [Sunspear Rebirth Signet] for a hard res (a renewable one, i.e. Monk res skills like [Resurrection Chant]) if you don't bring Assassin secondary and can go Monk.
2. Replace [Death's Charge] with any speed buff. This is for quickly getting behind enemy physicals and taking out support.
3. Replace either [Death's Charge] or [Sunspear Rebirth Signet] with another attack skill, maybe a "spammable" one like [Eremite's Attack] or [Mystic Sweep].
I prefer a Zealous scythe mod, but it's not that essential. This gives big numbers and is really effective for me thus far in PvE.
